Strength and Conditioning

Welcome to our off-season program! This guide outlines the expectations, schedule, and philosophy that will help each player maximize their potential and contribute to the success of our football team. Remember, dedication during the off-season lays the foundation for success during the season.

1. Commitment and Participation:

  • Players involved in other sports are encouraged to continue their multi-sport participation. We believe it enhances overall athleticism and competitiveness.

  • If not participating in other sports, treat the off-season program like a sport. Your commitment is crucial.

  • Non-participating players will be given opportunities to make their own decisions after three conversations with the head coach.

2. Strength and Conditioning:

  • Training will occur four days a week from January to August. )During the season, lifting sessions are on Saturday and Monday)

  • Missing one day is acceptable, but there should be a valid reason for attending only one or zero days.

  • Players who neglect off-season training are still eligible for tryouts but must earn their playing time.

3. Position-Specific Learning

 Opportunities:

  • Optional position-specific learning sessions will be sponsored for quarterbacks, kickers, linemen, receivers, and skill positions.

  • While not mandatory, these sessions provide valuable opportunities to improve skills and football knowledge.

4. Passing Leagues:

  • Participation in passing leagues is optional, but valid reasons for non-participation must be communicated.

  • Family vacations and events are acceptable reasons for absence.

5. Student-Athletes in Other Sports:

  • Players in summer baseball, basketball, or lacrosse are expected to consistently train with the football program.

  • Unity Council decisions may lead to adjustments in the offseason program to accommodate other sports.

6. Training Locations:

  • The YMCA and home/private gyms do not replace our offseason program.

  • Specialized athletic-training facilities with certified trainers are an option, but we encourage a blend of our program and training with teammates for team chemistry.

7. Unity Council and Team Chemistry:

  • Decisions regarding changes to the program will involve the Unity Council.

  • Team chemistry built during the offseason is critical for success on the field.

Remember, success is a result of consistent effort and dedication. Embrace the program, work together with your teammates, and off-season work will propel us to victory on the football field. Go Falcons!
